Where Are The Best Places To Ride My Quad Bike?

Our customers often get in touch to ask us, where they can actually ride their quad bikes once they buy them.

And our answer is usually the same.

If you have a road legal quad bike then you’re allowed by law, to ride your quad bike on the road.

But that mostly applies to adults. As children should not be allowed to ride on the road without a drivers licence and be under the age of 17.

With that being said, there are still plenty of places your children can ride their quad bikes and in this article, we’ll look at some places to go, just to give you an idea!

In Your Garden

Perhaps the most obvious place that comes to mind is your garden.

Your child won’t be disturbed and if they’re playing with their friends, then it’s just as enjoyable for them, no matter where they are.

Furthermore, you can keep your eye on them, especially if they have an accident and hurt themselves.

In order to prevent any accidents though, you should definitely buy all the necessary equipment and protection for peace of mind on your part and their own safety for theirs.

In A Forest

If you live in an area where you live near a lot of forests where people and families often go for walks, why not take the quad bike there for your child to drive around on?

We would suggest calling ahead before you do go and double-check that you're allowed to ride your quad bike.

But we would imagine as long as they don’t harm nature or ruin the landscape with the quad bike, this shouldn’t be a problem.

We would only suggest taking electric quad bikes as with petrol quad bikes can be quite noisy, especially for other people who are walking.

So it’s important to respect other walkers and families.

If you have a petrol quad bike, you could also look for dirt tracks where, quad bikes, dirt bikes and alike are all welcome to make as much noise and have as much fun as possible!

On Holiday

Depending on where you go on holiday, especially if it’s in the UK, some holiday sites may allow you to ride your own quad bikes.

Just to be sure, we would advise calling your holiday park ahead of time to double-check that it is indeed allowed as it may be up to the discretion of the individual parks.

But having a quad bike, especially at getaway parks such as Center Parcs, is a great way to have fun and get around the village!

Again, we would imagine that these parks only allow for electric quad bikes to be brought onto their park and it's best calling ahead just so you know the rules on the park.

So for petrolheads, you may need to think outside the box. But here we would say Google is your best friend to find local places to drive your petrol quad bike.

Ready To Ride?

This was just a quick article to give you an idea of where you can ride your quad bikes once you get them.

We would always suggest giving the places a call ahead of time, just so that you know the rules and regulations. As the last thing you’d want is to turn up only to be not allowed in the forest or holiday park on your quad bikes.

So be sure to call ahead and check!

3 Things You Should Know Before Riding A Pit Bike

If your child has never ridden a pit bike before but they’re convinced that this is what they want to do with their life, then there are things you need to know before jumping on the bike.

Entry-level pit bikes such as the M2R Racing KX110F and the KX125 pit bikes offer a complete introductory level into the world of motocross.

But at the end of the day, they’re still pit bikes, with a powerful engine and should be treated with responsibility and respect.

In this article, we’ll take a look at 3 things you should know before riding a pit bike.

Don’t Go Cheap On Safety Equipment

First and foremost, safety should be your number one concern and factor.

And we understand, you’ve spent all this money on a brand new pit bike for your son or daughter that, you want to save money where you can.

But safety gear should not be it. We would argue that you should spend as much money as you can afford on the safety gear first and then buy the pit bike afterwards.

That’s because you cannot put a price on safety. Helmets, goggles, riders outfit, elbow and knee pads, gloves and boots. These will all help keep your child safe when riding a pit bike. Because it is a motorbike, after all, just a smaller, entry-level version.

It’s NOT Like Riding A Bike

Many people jump on a pit bike or a dirt bike thinking that it’ll be similar to riding a traditional bicycle, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

When you sit on a bicycle your weight is on your bum as you sit and ride throughout the countryside or wherever you may be cycling.

When you sit on a pit bike, you don’t want to have all your weight on your bum, instead, you want to lean forward and distribute the weight evenly across the bike so you have more control of the bike and its movements.

Don’t just turn with your arms and hands, also turn your body slightly to mimic movements on a normal motorbike, this will help develop the fundamentals of riding a motorbike if your child wants to go that far up.

Now, we’re not saying knee to the ground here! But rather start to have your body in tune with the movements you make with the bike to help you when you get your next dirt bike or motorbike.

Sit comfortably and don’t sit too far back as you would on a bicycle, sit a little more forward, giving you more control over the bike as you ride.

Practice With The Bike Off

There’s nothing wrong with sitting on your brand new pit bike, learning how things work with the power turned off. And in fact, we’d encourage it!

Get used to the pit bike, the seat, the handlebars, the clutch, everything. Practice changing gears, practice your body movements and how you’ll sit on the bike.

Then, whenever you feel comfortable and ready to do so, take the bike outside (Mum and Dad might be a little bit upset with you if you start the bike up in the living room!) and put into practice what you’ve been doing with the bike turned off.

Reviewing The Gotrax GXLV2

The Gotrax GXLV2 is a special electric scooter, as far as we’re concerned it’s one of the best electric scooters on the market today.

And this statement can be backed up by mentioning that it’s the #1 best selling electric scooter in the US and across the world.

And with a statement that big, it only made sense for us to add it to our collection here at FunBikes!

We always want to bring our customers the very best products from quad bikes to dirt bikes and buggies to electric scooters. And the Gotrax GXLV2 is the latest addition to our online shop.

In this article, we’ll be reviewing the Gotrax GXLV2 and looking at just some of the standout features this electric scooter has to offer.

The Onboard Digital Display

We love the digital display on this scooter, easily manage everything from cruise control, battery life to your headlights if riding around at night.

And from this amazing review from TechRadar, we know that the lower end electric scooters don’t have a digital display quite as good as the one on the GXLV2.

See how fast you’re going vs the battery life so you can push the GXLV2 to it’s limits or be more conservative to have enough juice left to get back home, all at your fingertips of the digital display!

Speed, Charge And Distance

Speaking of speed, how fast can this scooter go you might be asking yourself? The GXLV2 can reach speeds of up to 15.5 mph, perfect for long road cruising and enjoying a ride out with friends or family.

As for charging capabilities, a 3-4 hour charge is all this scooter needs to be able to head on out the door, and ride!

You can go up to 12 miles on a single charge, so we’d suggest considering turning around when you reach 6 miles, just to be safe that you can get back home!

Amazing Value For Money

So let’s wrap up. The digital display, the speed, charge and distance and, not to mention all the other amazing features that the GXLV2 has. We think it’s excellent value for money.

And right now, we’ve dropped the price on these scooters from £415 to just £299! A bargain if you ask us!

Still need convincing? Here are some more features to help you make the right decision.

  • Dual braking system

In this article, we’ll take a look at the Stunt Pro and the Extreme scooters from Mashed Up Scooters and let you know why you should consider buying them.

The Vibrant Colours

The first thing you’ll probably notice about Mashed Up scooters are the vibrant range of colours these scooters come in.

From red, blue and green to purple, white and the seriously cool neo chrome rainbow colour that happens to be our customers’ favourite.

The neochrome rainbow is very rarely in stock, so you have to act fast to get yours when you see it available to order!

But that’s not to take anything away from any of the other colours, the white scooter is for those who want more of a serious and professional look.

Whereas the purple, red and blue of the Extreme stunt scooter just look really stunning with the Mashed Up logo on the deck and the colours stand out.

The Cool Design

Speaking of the design, you’ll notice the Y-Style Chromoly construction reinforced handlebar for all the scooters which help keep a firm grip of the handlebars and gives you a full range of steering in a sharp and concise manner.

The Alu Core PU cast wheels are so durable that they can handle landing the hardest tricks or riding for hours on various streets, skate parks and more.

And talking of the durability, these scooters are made to take all the punishment you give it when learning how to ride a scooter or how to do a new trick. We know it takes a few tries before you eventually land it, and that’s why Mashed Up have thought of this, to design a scooter than can be crashed, trashed, punished and will continue to perform again and again!

The Best Price

These scooters are serious value for money!

The features, the design, the colours and the durability means that for what you pay, these scooters can last your kids up until they grow out of riding their scooter.
