Hammerhead GT80

The new Hammerhead GT80 is an off-road buggy for kids age 11 and upwards. It has two seats so your child can be joined by a friend in the fun of using this superb new vehicle, so make sure that your child and passenger doesn't forget to wear them. It will keep your child safe, busy and happy under the watchful eye of mom and dad for hours on end.

This new buggy, available from funbikes.co.uk, is built stronger and much more ruggedly than other similar buggies on the market. It has been built for children around the age of 11 to use, and although it is a smaller model, its chomoly tubular frame has been built with the strength of larger vehicles of this type. Which it needs, as this buggy has been designed to handle all terrains, and its full dual A-arm/ swing A-arm suspension will make driving over those rough bumps seem like smoothed out tarmac to keep your child comfortable.

Other characteristics of the new Hammerhead GT80 include an electric start and automatic drive for your child to get going, sliding bucket seats which allows the seats to be adjusted so their feet can touch the pedals, and a canopy top. The canopy top is removable, and it is great for use if you need the cover to shadow out the sun so that your child can see better, rather than having the sun shining directly into their line of sight. The engine is a four-stroke that runs on unleaded and the brakes are hydraulically powered. And in the unlikely event that you would need it, the Hammerhead GT80 comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.

THE FUN OF OFF ROAD BUGGIES

There is an excellent selection of extremely cool off road buggies available from Fun Bikes for small kids, aged around 10 to 15, and bigger kids in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s etc….. If off-road adventure is what you’re looking for, then read on.

The Shark Micro RV50 has been designed with the smaller kids in mind, with all the safety features you would expect from a top quality manufacturer. This little beauty has been crafted for bombing around the garden and other light terrain areas so that your little one can get a feel for the excitement of off-roading under the watchful eye of mom and dad. And much to your child’s delight, the fun won’t be stopped by dad having to “check” the machine, because dad is just too big to have a go! And if the kids are a little older, why not check out the awesome Hammerhead GT80? Its mega tough with a strong chomoly tubular frame, and has had 4 years of near constant American engineering improvements. Equipped with full suspension, this buggy is designed to handle all terrains. The only down side is that, due to its larger size, dad can commandeer the GT80 and steal all the fun.

However, there is no need for mom and dad to feel left out. No need at all. Fun Bikes have buggies for them too. There is the upgraded Hammerhead GT150, which has been the most popular twin-seater buggy in the USA for the last 4 years. From its frame to the suspension; all of its components have be stress tested to get the maximum strength, reliability and durability possible.

If you believe that the equation is something like; power = fun, then perhaps you’d like to take it to the next level. The Warrior 250cc water-cooled off-road buggy could be the animal that you need to tame the animal in you! This king of off-road buggies has a liquid cooled engine with masses of low end power. Not necessarily built for speed, this baby sure can climb. Due to the clout this machine has, the safety features built in as standard are second to none: 4 point safety harness, driver’s safety net and rack and pinion steering have been put in place for your protection. There is no end of fun to be had at Fun Bikes.

PIT BIKES FOR EVERYONE

Pit bikes and racing them has become increasingly popular over the last 10 years, and at Fun Bikes they have been keeping up to date with all the latest innovations to come out of American and Japan. From 90cc to 160cc, Fun Bikes have a selection of pit bikes to suit everyone’s level of experience and budget.

If you’re thinking of taking a step up from mini biking, or perhaps you’re a first time rider, than the Made-2-Race KX90F could be the ideal pit bike for you. As the engine has a soft power delivery system and a 3 speed semi-automatic gearbox and no clutch lever for the rider to concern them with, this bike is great for building rider confidence. There is also the incredibly cool looking SUPERMOTO CRF70, which has also been designed with the less experienced rider in mind, although at 140cc this entry level pit bike has a little more clout than the KX90F. The suspension, brakes and engine can all be upgraded as you progress as a ride, and with its carbon look plastics, red alloy rims and black forks and silver triple clamps, you’ll look as cool as the bike does bounding around on one of these superb machines.

Or maybe you’re already a bit of a pit biking motor head and looking for something with a little more oomph. If that’s the case you could always go for the upgraded Made-2-Race KX140F. This is a new bike that has been built on the KX110F chassis and fitted out with a 12hp oil-cooled high performance YX Motorsport Race engine that can reach an impressive 70mph. So, if you’ve been keeping your eyes peeled for a powerful and durable bike, then stop peeling and start rubbing your eyes in wonder, because the KX140F is exactly what you’ve been looking for. At Fun Bikes they really do mean fun bikes!

Pit Bike Popularity Grows and Grows

As we have discussed on our blog before, the pit bike has an interesting history – from its early incarnation as a simple push bike with a small engine attached it has evolved in power, design and popularity to become a sport and a discipline in its own right.

Originally used in the pit areas of race tracks across America (hence ‘pit’ bike) as a quick and easy way of getting around, their popularity has taken off since the late 1990s as people realised that this type of bike had much more potential than just being used as a run around. Honda renamed their famous Z50 to XR50, modified it slightly to be more suitable for racing, and the pursuit of pit bike design perfection was on.

Since these early days, pit bike races and meets have popped up all over the UK and USA and their popularity has grown enormously. A quick internet search will show the level of interest in pit bikes and mini motos (along with increased interest in all things off road, including dirt bikes, buggies and quads), as clubs, organisations, race meetings and parts suppliers abound, along with discussion forums about everything from last night’s meet to new bike designs and developments. The fact that there are pit bike pros touring the US circuits now making a living purely out of race money and sponsorship shows the level of growth that has taken place in the industry over the past few years, with sponsors obviously feeling comfortable that they will get a decent return on in investing in the discipline’s most talented stars.

There are a variety of fully-fledged pit bike or mini moto racing series in the US, but the biggest event of the year is the Las Vegas Mini Supercross, where the pros pit their wits against each other (no pun intended!) in an effort to outshine their rivals. In the UK there are no big pit bike events as such to date (although there are hundreds of local tracks and events regularly across the country), but as the popularity of the sport continues to increase it is only a matter of time until the industry becomes big enough to support a full-on national race meeting.

So if this is a sport you like the look of, now is definitely the right time to get involved as the industry looks set to grow and grow.
